Pet Policy

We’re pleased to offer pet-friendly options at Te Mata Views so you can enjoy your stay alongside your furry family members. To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all guests, please review and follow the conditions outlined below.

General Pet Policy

  • Pets are welcome by prior arrangement only and must be approved before arrival.

  • Pets are permitted in:

    • Designated powered and non-powered camping sites

    • Selected Pet-Friendly Cabins (these must be specifically booked)

  • Pets are not permitted in any of the resort’s lodges, glamping tents, or non-pet designated accommodation.

Peak Season Restrictions

  • Due to high occupancy levels, no pets are permitted between 20th December and 31st January, with the exception of stays in approved Pet-Friendly Cabins.

Pet Owner Responsibilities

  • All dogs must remain on a leash at all times when outside your site or accommodation.

  • Dogs must be confined to your assigned site or room area.

  • Pets must be exercised only in the designated pet area provided.

  • Pets are not permitted to walk through resort gardens, pathways, communal areas, or non-pet accommodation zones.

  • Owners must ensure their pets do not cause disruption, noise, or inconvenience to other guests.

  • Owners are fully responsible for cleaning up after their pets.

  • Any damage caused by pets is the full responsibility of the owner.

Pet Fees

  • Camping & Powered Sites:

    • $10 per pet (1-night stay)

    • $20 per pet (stays of 2 nights or more)

  • Pet-Friendly Accommodation:

    • $30 per pet, per night

Breach of Policy

  • If any pet is found off-leash, wandering, or in restricted areas, management reserves the right to request the guest and pet vacate the property immediately.

  • No refunds will be provided in cases where guests are asked to leave due to pet policy breaches.

Acceptance of Terms

By bringing a pet to Te Mata Views Resort, you agree to comply with the terms of this Pet Policy. These guidelines are in place to ensure a positive and safe experience for all guests — both two and four-legged.
